How To Increase Your Blog’s Revenue By 75 Percent

Want to learn how to increase your blog’s revenue by 75 percent or more? Then keep reading because I’ve got some helpful tips.

Over the years, I’ve tried quite a few different methods of making money using my blogs. In this article, I’ll share with you what worked for me, and hopefully it will work for you as well.

I started out my monetizing campaign by trying out some of the various ad platforms. One of the first platforms I signed up for was Chitika. While Chitika worked fine, I just didn’t have the amount of visitors to make it worthwhile. Over time I tried others like Infolinks, but wasn’t able to make any kind of revenue. The reason for that was partially because of my view counts at the time. If you don’t have visitors, you can’t have money.

More recently–like within the last year–I signed up for Media.net. This ad platform uses the Bing!/Yahoo ad network to serve its ads. It offers text-based ads and display ads which is nice. Still, I never even reached the payout amount of $50, it just took too much time.

After Media.net, I moved to Sovrn, a newer, and overall better ad platform. My time at Sovrn was short because I was anxious to sign up for the grandfather of all ad platforms, Adsense. If you need an alternative to Adsense for some reason, try Sovrn.

Once I moved to Adsense, there was no going back. Some ads pay really well, better than I’ve experienced anywhere else. Today, on Oatboat, the ads you see are served from the Google Adsense network.

After you’ve found your ad network of choice, you need to optimize the placement of the ads. Spend some time thinking about where you’re going to place the ads before you do.

While Adsense is by far the best display ad network, there are other methods of advertisement that pay far better. Although, they’re harder to find. Sponsored content is probably the best way to make real money relatively quickly.

Most companies who send you sponsored content will pay you almost immediately after publishing the content. The ones I’ve dealt with pay you via PayPal. The pay can range widely and is based on a number of factors. The most important factor is how popular your website is.

That leads me to a point I really need to make. If you’re blogging to make money, you’re not going to do well. You should be blogging because you love it, not because you think you can make a bunch of cash.

Below is a rough representation of my advertising success. Revenue picked up when I moved to Adsense, but really jumped when I started to incorporate sponsored content as well.

Once you have enough visitors, I would recommend starting with Adsense. If you want, you can add sponsored posts to your blog as well. Just be sure to let your readers know what’s sponsored. This combo is sure to increase your revenue significantly.
