‘Stand Your Ground Law’ critics get hit with major blow

On Tuesday, the Florida legislator held a vote on calling a special session to repeal the “Stand Your Ground” law. The session will not be called, due to lack of support.

Ever since George Zimmerman fired his weapon in self-defense and killed Trayvon Martin, there have been calls to get rid of Stand Your Ground. Recently, Rick Scott, Florida’s Governor said that their intentions were to not change the controversial law.

After the vote on Tuesday, The Department of State released the tally which showed  that 108 legislators voted against the special session, while 47 voted for it.
