Bloodborne has been the main topic of conversation for millions of gamers since before its release today. Expectations ran at an all time high, and so far, no one has been disappointed, unless you count the loading screen times.
The loading screens that appear when a player starts the game or respawns is what’s causing the problem. They’re an essential part of most any video game, but to keep players happy, they need to be brief.
With loading screens being considerably long, Bloodborne has a way of both punishing and teaching players. Not surprising for the Dark Souls fan-base. However, it seems as though they may be a little too long, at a whopping 30-40 seconds.
In a statement given to IGN, who have been covering the game extensively since before release, Sony and From Software promised a solution:
“The development team is currently exploring another patch for Bloodborne, seeking ways to improve load time duration, in addition to other performance optimizations and miscellaneous bug fixes… We will provide more information as soon as possible.”
No date has been given, but the promise stands as players wait for the issue to be fixed. A minor issue, considering the breathtaking views, addictive gameplay, and dark content. It seems a few days or weeks of lengthy loading screens won’t affect Bloodborne’s reviews.
