It’s already December 23? How the heck did that happen? Well, here’s a last minute list that I threw together with some of my favorite Christmas songs. It’s worth noting that I don’t even usually enjoy Christmas songs, but these ones are different.
1. Joy Has Dawned – Kings Kaleidoscope
Kings Kaleidoscope are painfully good at what they do. Take a listen to one of the coolest Christmas songs I’ve ever heard.
There are other wonderful Christmas songs from Kings Kaleidoscope though. Here are a couple others (links are to Spotify): Oh Holy Night and Come All Ye Faithful.
2. O Come O Come Emmanuel – Citizens and Saints
Another one of my favorite bands. As it turns out, they’re pretty great at singing Christmas tunes.
Another really excellent holiday song by Citizens and Saints is Silent Night. Honestly, I think everything they do is excellent, so here are some of their other stuff: Joy to the World, Hark! the Herald Angels Sings, and Come and Stand Amazed.
3. O Come O Come Emmanuel – The Civil Wars
I miss the Civil Wars greatly. This is, as far as I know, the only Christmas song of theirs that is easily available. It’s so good, you won’t want it to stop playing. Perfection.
4. Angels We Have Heard On High – The Modern Post
“Sweetly singing o’er the plains, And the mountains in reply. Echoing their joyous strains.”
I hope you enjoy these songs and have an amazing Christmas! Thanks for spending some of your holiday on Oatboat.
