Well, the inevitable has happened. Bernie Sanders has finally brought his campaign to an end. While no one really knew for sure what would happen, nearly all political analysts expected for Sanders to endorse Clinton. That just happened today.
“Secretary Clinton has won the Democratic nomination and I congratulate her for that.”
Sen. Sanders conceded to Hillary and said he’ll do all that he can to make sure Hillary is the next president. While Bernie may have endorsed her, that doesn’t mean all his fans will.
Many Bernie supporters have a well-rooted dislike for Hillary Clinton. Her political elite status and connections with wall street are precisely the reasons why Sanders was able to run such a formidable campaign against her. Bernie campaigned against wall street and the political elite, but now he’s endorsed Clinton.
There’s no doubt that many of Bernie’s supporters will not jump on the Clinton train. But his endorsement will likely help a significant number of voters make the switch.
